This period is full of cosmic happenings. And right on brand for 2025, many of them are smushed together in the span of only a week! We go from Eclipse, to Equinox, to planets tussling in the sky, to fresh vibes as they change zodiac signs. Read more about it all below: 

Solar Eclipse characteristics

This Eclipse is on 9/21 during the day, but not visible from the US. Solar Eclipses thematically differ from Lunar because they tend to be more external. Events may unfold now in your life that aren’t directly caused by your actions/choices. Rather, you may have to decide how to respond to an occurrence that happens to you, someone you know, or in the world in general. This Eclipse sits directly across from Saturn & Neptune in the sky, so one theme highlighted now is fantasy vs. reality, and having a hard time differentiating between the two. The Solar Eclipse + You

Because we’re getting Virgo Moon round 2, we can revisit any intentions we may have set around the August 23rd lunation. Virgo season has hopefully helped us practice discernment, refinement, attention to detail, and critical thinking. Lean on those qualities as you revisit and possibly tweak your intentions. And remember, you’re not just setting an intention for the next lunar cycle. Think longer-range now because eclipse energy unfolds over the course of 6 months. Events set in motion at this time may not become visible for a little while.

The Week after the Eclipse: Mars-Pluto

Just hours after the peak of the Solar Eclipse, the planet Mars leaves the sign of Libra and enters Scorpio, where it stays until the end of October. The gift of Mars in Scorpio is SMOLDERING INTENSITY! In the next paragraph you’ll see all the ways we can benefit from this, but first, a word of caution between Sept 21st - 28th.

Mars will be locked in an uncomfortable dance with Pluto, and it creates a primal energy that we will feel. As I write this, I already observe a sense of pressure building both inside me and around me - like a tea kettle heating to a boil. 

Mars-Pluto calls up all our fear, hatred, and disgust because it’s all about the shadow. It’s possible to see an uptick in aggression, outright violence, power moves, control, & manipulative or under-handed behavior. On the world stage, we’re already seeing manifestations of these themes with censorship, deaths, escalations in global conflict, etc. While most of us don’t get a chance to direct national or global events, we do get a chance to decide how to respond to this energy. Many of us have really intense feelings right now, but the trick is to try not to let your feelings explode on people who are not the cause of the issues. It’s also a great time to inventory your own fears and how they might be driving your behavior in unintended ways - shadow work is SO valuable during the whole Mars in Scorpio time frame. 

Be mindful of any impulses to punish or destroy, because Mars-Pluto energy makes that option very seductive. If you need to go full Tower Card in some area of your life, that’s okay, but perhaps wait until this week passes so you can do it more thoughtfully.

September Equinox + Libra season

The other notable event in these couple weeks is the Equinox. On September 22nd the Sun leaves Virgo and kicks off the Autumn season as it enters Libra. Honestly, I think we’re going to need this Libra energy after the chaos of the Eclipses. The astro vibes are shifting toward beauty, pleasure, relationship, and creativity.
