It's all music.

Oracle + Alchemy | JAN 14

Oftentimes, when I speak to people about reiki, I use the analogy of music. We all know music, we've all experienced music, and we understand its language. It's not a thing we see, rather something we feel. Music is energy, pure and simple. With reiki, we are the radio (made of love and truth and connection), and music maybe isn't coming through, or full of static, or too loud or soft. We aren't hearing and receiving our true nature because it's been silenced or gotten lost somewhere. So, we as healers turn the energetic "dials", so that the music flows again and we're on the right station, so to speak. In this analogy, we can all understand energy and that it's not tangible or seeable, yet immensely powerful. It's not woo woo or new agey, it's the foundational fabric of our entire existence. It's the keeper of our truth. Yet, most often, we deny it.

In the sanctuary, we have many conversations about the world, what's happening, how heavy or jarring it all is. We're living with stereos at full blast playing different songs at the same time. It's noisy, it's rocking our nervous system into fight, flight, freeze and fawn all at the same time, and we're in the center of it frozen with fear. We're panicked, afraid, unsettled, and can't hear anything but the noise of pain. Our hands over our ears in turmoil. Our favorite song is being drowned out by the chaos. We aren't hearing the beautiful voices, the lyrics that make us feel completely understood, or the riff that makes us feel and understand god.

This is where most of us live most of the time.

But, listen. It's all music. It's all energy waves moving, and we have the power to turn the stereos down...or off. If you turned off the noise, would you no longer be a person filled with love and connection and kindness? Arguably, you'd probably be those things even more so. You'd have the space to rest and breathe, to listen to what's left in the silence. The delicate birdsong that calms you, the purr of the cat beside you, or your favorite song.

So, what am I saying with this whole analogy? Well, firstly, I'm just hoping you sit with it and think about this in your own life, and where the noise is the most deafening. But then, I'm hoping you take action...not action to do more, but to turn the noise off (or down, at the very least). I'm hoping you understand living life in stereo-full-blast mode isn't helping you help yourself, or anyone else. I'm hoping you notice where the noise is imprisoning you away from your truth - you as a being of love, truth and connection. Then, instead of it keeping you from your genuine nature, you put barriers around it instead, and decide when and how you choose to be with the music of the world. A state of fear and panic is never a place where we live our truth from, and the world will always have its wicked ways. We can't blast love and integrity out of our music box if we let the noise consume us.

So just for today, put down your phone. Stay off socials. Turn the news off. Hug someone. Pause to listen to the conversation you're in. See beauty with your open and awake eyes, or create it intentionally. Feel love like you feel music. Be present. Be kind to animals and walk gently upon the earth. Pick up litter. Listen to your favorite song. Connect with the person next to you. Forgive the person behind you. You'll radiate the kindness and love and truth and connection the world needs, likely, even more so.

This is how we amplify change. This is how we live from love. One song at a time, one neighbor at a time, one note at a time. The flow of genuine, harmonious connection. It's all music.

Big love, babes.
